Hi, I'm Maya!

I'm a twenty-one year old actress, singer, and dancer based in Los Angeles. My passion for performing began as the Goldfish in a community production of “Pinocchio” when I was three, and I haven't left the stage since! Since then, my love and appreciation for the performing arts has only grown, and my focus over the past decade has been on training for a successful career in the entertainment industry. I’m currently completing my Theatre BFA, with an emphasis in Acting, from the Meadows School of the Arts at SMU in Dallas, where I've been lucky to work with many other talented actors, creatives, and industry professionals to sharpen my skills. I'm excited to return home to LA after graduating in May to pursue my acting career in full force!

Outside of performing, I Am...

A Dog Mom

This is Theo, but most know him as Theo-Weo. I've spent many hours with Theo walking, playing, and teaching him oh so many tricks! He can sit, lay down, roll over, shake, AND give a double high five. Just ask him to "celebrate," and he'll instantly become your best friend.

A Trader Joe's Connoissuer

Trader Joe's is my happy place! Bring me anything from Trader Joe's, and you will instantly become MY best friend. And in return, I'll make you a home-cooked meal!

A Traveler

I LOVE traveling and being immersed in different cultures. My  favorite country I've traveled to is France. I studied the French language from High School through my second year of college, so I enjoy any chance I get to practice what I've learned. My most recent trip was to London (photographed above), where I got to interact with many different forms of performance art (museums, plays, musicals, street art, and more). It was incredible!

An Amateur Choreographer

One of my favorite hobbies to get my creativity flowing is choreographing. In High School, I was the girl choreographing tap dances under her desk during Chemistry class. My dance teachers always encouraged us to choreograph a minute-long dance each year, and I'm sure you can guess, that was my favorite assignment!

A Teacher

My three summers during college were spent directing, music directing, and choreographing a 6 week musical theatre summer camp for kids ages 6-15.  My favorite part of teaching is seeing each kid's "I got it!!" moment when they've finally conquered a challenge they've been working on.

I also teach private voice lessons to a handful of kids in my hometown, as well as helping them audition prep for local community productions. I'd love to continuing expanding this business as a passion project.

A Cheeseboard Artist

One of the first skills my mom passed down to me in the kitchen is how to design a beautiful cheese and charcuterie board. I've made oh so many, but this  is one of my favorites.

In addition to feeding people exorbitant amounts of cheese, cooking for others is one of my love languages. If you come into my home, you will be fed.

But most importantly...

I am a daughter, a granddaughter, a sister, a cousin, a niece, and a friend.

My family is everything to me. Who I am and who I continue to grow into is heavily influenced by the plethora of incredible examples I have in the people that have raised me. I feel deeply grateful to be one piece of such a beautiful puzzle.
